French director Mia Hansen-Løve, a beloved figure at the festival who visited its inaugural edition to present Le père de mes enfants (The Father of My Children), will be awarded the 2026 D’A Prize. The prize recognizes the career of an independent and distinctive filmmaker who draws on the tradition of French auteur cinema with her ever-renewed and luminous vision and stories rooted in her own experiences and surroundings: her brother in Eden, her first producer in Le père de mes enfants, herself in Un amour de jeunesse (A Young Love), and her father’s decline in Un beau matin (A Beautiful Morning).
Winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 2016 Berlinale for Le porvenir (Things to Come) and the Special Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in 2009 for her second film, Le père de mes enfants, Mia Hansen-Løve will visit D’A 2026 and participate in a dialogue about her work during the festival. The visit to Barcelona will be possible thanks to the collaboration between the D’A – Barcelona Film Festival, the Script Residency of the Catalan Cinema Academy (directed by Carla Simón), ECIB (Barcelona Film School), A Bao A Qu – Cinema en curs.
