LABS & HUBS
Tools for the Development of Cinematographic Projects

One of the main objectives of the D’A Film Festival Barcelona is to serve as an instrument for the development and promotion of emerging new cinema. Recent D’A professional workshops titled New Talent | Emerging Views analysed, in terms of creation, production and distribution; and from the perspective of festivals, the different processes that encourage the development and positioning of quality cinematographic projects made by new talent. In this year’s edition, Labs & Hubs: Tools for the Development of Cinematographic Projects has been set up as a kind of reverse angle on those previous workshops.

During two mornings of talks, round tables and workshops, different sessions will be held to discuss dynamics and strategies to strengthen, finance and internationalise cinematographic productions during the development and pre-production phases, based on an appraisal of a variety of professional and training projects. Given the new role that independent film festivals have taken on in recent years, whereby they have become yet another cog in the works for the breakthrough of new filmmakers and new cinema, the D’A 2019 professional workshops are intensifying their commitment to new and emerging talent and the main concerns of the audiovisual and cinematographic sectors.
