Talents is one of the festival’s DNA, the section dedicated to the careers and directors with a maximum of two feature films in its filmography, which this year will present fourteen films from Colombia, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, Switzerland, Germany, Morocco, Japan, Japan, France, Angola, Portugal, USA and Spain. Among the selected films, the indie sensation of the year in the United Kingdom, Blue Jean of Georgia Oakley, winner of four awards at the British Independent Film Awards and the public prize of the Giornate Degli Author section in the Biennale 2022; Andrés Ramírez Pulido’s La Jauría, revelation of Colombian cinema who received the Grand Prix of the Critics’ Week of the last Cannes Festival; the delicate Plan 75 of Japanese Chie Hayakawa, special mention of the Golden Chamber Award in Cannes 2022; Nação Valente of the Portuguese Carlos Conceição, awarded in Locarno; Foudre, the shocking debut of Carmen Jaquier; or Runner of the American director Marian Mathias, Special Jury Prize at the last San Sebastián Festival.

The Talents section grants a prize for the best film endowed with 10,000 euros. In the last editions the talents have been for Petite Nature de Samuel Theis (France, 2022) and Poppy Field by Eugen Jebeleanu (Romania, 2021).
