The 12 titles selected in the new edition of the D’A Film Lab Barcelona, which will be held as part of the D’A – Barcelona Film Festival between March 24 and 30, are already known.

The selection committee for the proposals presented at the Final Cut, formed by Carlos Loureda from Cine Invisible, the producer Carla Sospedra and the programmer Hebe Tabachnik have chosen the following projects: the feature directorial debut of Laura Ferrés with La imatge permanent, co-written with Carlos Vermut and produced by Fasten Films; Sobre todo la noche, by Víctor Iriarte with a screenplay by the same director co-written with Isa Campo and Andrea Queralt, and which also has Isa Campo and Isaki Lacuesta among the producers and Lola Dueñas and Ana Torrent among its protagonists; Negu Hurbilak from Colectivo Negu, born from ESCAC, in a Cornelius Films production (Canción a una dama en la sombra); Creatura, the second feature film directed by Elena Martín in a Vilaüt Films, Lastor Media, Avalon and Elástica Films production starring Elena Martín and Oriol Pla and with Clara Roquet as co-writer; Un arbre és un arbre is the new work of b together with the photographer Aleix Plademunt in an essayistic documentary. And finally, La Marsellesa de los borrachos by Pablo Gil, a creative documentary produced by Boogaloo Films.

The committee of the line of Development – Emergent Catalan Production, formed by Rafa Alberola (ECAM) and Xènia Puiggrós (Segarra Films/PAC), has chosen the following six films to participate in the D’A Film Lab Barcelona: La maldita trinitat by Erik Rodriguez Fernandez, director of the short film Larrua jo (Audience Award at D’A 2021); Maya by director Sonia Martí Gallego with production by The New Flesh, the production company promoted by La Casa del Cine; Les Culpables by Marta Durán with Boogaloo Films, a project that emerged from Acció Viver 2022 by Dones Visuals; Útil for the debutant director Eloi Sànchez Palau; Mala gent, Sara Gutiérrez Galve’s second feature film (Yo la busco); and finally Younger Days by Gerard Vidal, co-director of Les dues nits d’ahir, Silver Biznaga at Malaga Film Festival 2020. This line of the D’A Film Lab is carried out with the collaboration of Productors Audiovisuals de Catalunya – PAC and the participation of ECAM (Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid).

All the projects selected in the two lines of the laboratory will receive intensive support within the framework of the D’A – Barcelona Film Festival from March 24 to 30, with the SGAE headquarters in Catalonia and the CCCB as official venues, with international experts, advisors and programmers. Film pitches, one2one sessions, workshops on sustainability, internationalization of projects, financing, sales and markets and case studies will be held. The aim is to delve deeper into the potential of each film, to support the search for audiences both nationally and internationally and to guide independent filmmakers in navigating the growing and complex network of markets and forums of creation.
