Fifteen years presenting the present and the future of cinema. We never imagined an empty screen, without images, when we started the D’A – Barcelona Author Film Festival-, nor now, like D’A – Barcelona Film Festival. That is why, during these 15 years, we have presented more than a thousand films: hundreds of thousands of minutes that have illuminated our retinas and filled our ears based on stories, emotions and imagination that are at the same time culture, knowledge and enjoyment. And it is that all these films, short or long, are the present and the future of our personal cinematography: the ones that ultimately become part of our identity.

Authors, authors, with their corresponding teams and producers, allow these creations to reach us. They are the ones who prevent an erasure or tabula rasa from being imposed on the past, present or future – as some are trying to do with culture, history, or with our lives, something that we should not allow. That no one imposes himself to build another reality with the help of tweets, chainsaws, cuts or censorship of any kind.

If we have reached this far, completing years, improving despite the difficulties and growing every year, it is thanks to tireless collaborators who have allowed us to adapt, stand out and compete with festivals of greater scope and budget. Today, D’A is at a great age, he has good health, he looks good and we are delighted to have completed years without hyaluronic acids, digital algorithms or oversizing. If we have reached these fifteen editions, it is thanks to all these teams that every year manage to make films everywhere and at all times. New stories that will fascinate us, surprise us, that we may hate… But that will remain in our memory. Thus, among all, the magic of the cinema is maintained. Last but not least, one of D’A’s greatest successes is its community, made up of spectators, press, industry, collaborators, spaces and fans. And another big hit is the festival’s family, its team. Here’s to many more years!
