The D’A – Barcelona Film Festival presents the twelve projects selected for the Final Cut and Panorama Catalunya sections for the sixth edition of the D’A Film Lab, the leading space for fostering emerging talent, which will take place from March 22 to 25. This lab is not only a meeting point, but also a vibrant ecosystem where filmmakers and production companies redefine how films are made today, understanding creation as a constant search for new languages and new audiences.
The Final Cut section, a cornerstone for films in post-production, features eight titles vying for the €20,000 D’A Film Lab Barcelona Award. Among the most prominent names are filmmakers who have already made their mark at the festival, such as Àlex Lora, who presents L’Escletxa after the success of Unicorns (D’A 2023), and the duo Helena Girón and Samuel Delgado, festival regulars, who return with Bajo Risco. There’s also room for highly anticipated debuts, such as Adrià Guxens‘s Lóngquán (previously awarded at Locarno) and Samuel Nacar’s Taranta. The selection is rounded out by new works from Silvia Rey Canudo (Calle de los Ángeles) and Ezequiel Yanco (Los chicos de la Laguna, winner of the Berlinale World Cinema Fund Award), as well as the debuts of Marina Palacio (Y así seguirán las cosas) and Manuel Manrique (Una cabeza en la pared), solidifying a range of proposals that straddle the line between documentary and the most daring fiction.

On the other hand, the Panorama Catalunya section focuses on local productions with four projects that explore more intimate narratives: Ràdio Pati: un cicle de concerts molt valuós by Pau Bacardit, Barcelona estoy sola by Sofía Güerzoni, Vidres a la piscina by Ruth Caudell Martí, and Graus Minuts Segons by Joan Bover Raurell. The jury for these sections is comprised of Isona Admetlla (Berlinale World Cinema Fund), Víctor Lamadrid (Spain Film Commission), and Conxa Orea (3Cat).
Xisi Sofia Ye Chen, the director who won an award at the previous edition for La Noche de la Infancia, will mentor the newly selected filmmakers, creating a link of knowledge and support that strengthens the festival’s network. The lab thus becomes a direct bridge to the most relevant European markets, with programmers from essential events such as Rotterdam, the Berlinale, Toronto, and Karlovy Vary in attendance. D’A Film Lab Barcelona 2026 confirms its position as the ultimate accelerator for those who understand cinema as a tool for transforming reality and connecting with the world.
