His films border somewhere between realistic drama and the avant-garde. His first feature film La vie de Jésus was selected at Directors’ Fortnight. His films have won several awards at the Cannes films Festival. Two of Dumont’s films have won the Grand Prix award: both L’Humanité and Flanders. Dumont’s Hadewijch won the 2009 FIPRESCI Prize at the Toronto Film Festival. Camille Claudel 1915 screened in Competition in Berlin. P’tit Quinquin world premiered in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs’ Special Screenings, and his last film, France, starring Léa Seydoux, was part of Cannes 2021 Official Selection.
