We meet with Júlia de Paz to ask her everything about the film closing our festival in 2026. What does it mean to be “a good daughter”? La buena hija deliberately avoids answering that, just as de Paz already refused to moralize about the goodness or badness of mothers in Ama (2021). We surrender to this work of inquiry into vicarious and gender-based violence, and into the fragility of family relationships.
