Synopsis
An eight-year-old child struggles with the fact that people keep addressing her in confusing ways. During a summer at her grand aunt’s among the beehives, her life and her mother’s will change forever. The debut of the Basque director Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren in the fiction feature film arrives to the screens of the D’A through the front door, after being part of the Official Section of the Berlinale, where its very young protagonist, Sofía Otero, won the Silver Bear for best performance, and being selected at Cannes and San Sebastián with her previous short film, Cuerdas.

Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren
She has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the UPV-Bilbao, in Editing and Editing Theory from EICTV of Cuba, and a master’s degree in Cinematographic Direction and Film Business from ESCAC. She has directed several short films that have premiered at international festivals. Her first feature, Voces de papel, was selected in San Sebastián, and her last short, Chords, at the Critics’ Week in Cannes. With 20,000 Species of Bees, it has been part of the Official Section of Berlinale.
