Synopsis
Wang, a Chinese worker living in the industrial area of Singapore, suffers an accident at work and is worried about repatriation. Unable to sleep, he begins to frequent a cybercafé in the middle of the night. Hoping to find some form of human contact in a foreign place that makes him feel alienated, a virtual friendship begins that ends up being much more sinister than expected. When Wang suddenly disappears, policeman Lok is called to investigate the story by discovering an unexpected truth.

He studied philosophy at the National University of Singapore. He wrote and directed the experimental film In the House of Straw (2009). A Land Imagined won the Grand Prix at the Autumn Meeting 2016 in Da Nang and was a recipient of the Hubert Bals Fund as well as the CNC – Aide aux cinémas du monde. Golden Leopard at Locarno Film Festival.
