Synopsis
Contraplà is a filmmaking project promoted by Catalunya Film Festivals with the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, within the “Barris i comunitats: motors de transformació social” program. Aimed at children and teenagers, it proposes the creation of short films conceived and developed collectively by the participants themselves to promote cultural rights. Contraplà is an opportunity to highlight the value of artistic experience while simultaneously building connections with the neighborhood and the community.
Within the framework of the Contraplà project, Mentrestant, rodem, a collective short film by a group of young people from Vilafranca del Penedès, has been created. A group of teenagers makes a short film about discrimination, but the true focus is the filmmaking process itself. Through trial and error, and discoveries, they reveal the inner workings of filmmaking and how a story is constructed.
