Synopsis

Nobuhiro Suwa, star of the D’A 2018 retrospective and author of such sensitive works as Yuki & Nina or The Lion Sleeps Tonight, returns to Japan with this road film that reflects on the aftermath of the Fukushima tragedy. With a restrained emotion, Suwa centers the story on the journey of a young woman who lost everything and is now looking for answers. A cathartic film about collective mourning.

He begins his cinematographic career with 2/Duo, awarded at the Rotterdam Festival; M/Other, FIPRESCI Award at Cannes; or H Story, selected in Un Certain Regard of the same festival. From here, a successful period of French production begins, which leads him to win the Special Jury Prize in Locarno with Un couple parfait and selections in the Directors’ Fortnight or San Sebastián with Yuki & Nina and The Lion Sleeps Tonight, respectively. He was object of a retrospective in the D’A 2018.
