Still too little recognized, she is one of the key names in contemporary French cinema. After working as an editor on films such as Vagabond by Agnès Varda, she made her feature debut with Peaux de vaches, for which she was nominated for a César for Best First Feature and was also present in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, a section to which returns in 2000 with The King’s Daughters. With her following films, close to thrillers and film noir, she is present in festival such as Locarno. In recent years, festivals such as Gijón and Márgenes and institutions such as Tabakalera in San Sebastián and the Lincoln Center in the United States have dedicated retrospectives to her.
