His “domestic science fiction” films have been selected at festivals around the world, including the Berlinale, the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes, Sundance and San Sebastian, and have won almost 200 awards, including the Méliès d’Or, two mentions of honour at Sundance and a nomination for the European Film Awards.
