Marisa feels that she is a secondary actress of her own life. She has no job, no projects, no prospects for the future. She looks away from her own life’ s downfall to turn into the rescuer of her best friend Mina, who is immerse in a desperate crisis after the break-up of her relationship with Salvador. When she tries to gather help from other friends, she only finds more lives adrift. Then, some unexpected news come and break the difficult balance of her life, and Marisa can only find comfort in the city nightlife. Marisa in the Woods is the debut feature film by Antonio Morales (Almería, 1977). His debut in Madrid with ‘La Xirgu’ company’s play Mise en Scène was also awarded the Best Theater Script in the ‘Escena Abierta’ Festival. His style was named by prestigious theater journalist Rosana Torres as ‘the great new emerging theater’ (El País, 4/07/2010). He has since released several theatrical plays, including own texts, such as Marvellous Creature or Chekhov Will Save Us, as well as others’ like Heiner Müller, Marius von Mayenburg or Sarah Kane. On the screen, his music video for Löpez’s ‘Casiotone’s Lover’ was selected in the top 5 by ‘Rock de Lux’ magazine readers in 2013. His last short film, The Maya Deren Plot, was screened on festivals all throughout the world (such as Phoenix Film Festival in New York or Union City Film Festival in Australia).
