Synopsis
Created as an artistic video installation, Jessica Hausner focuses, in this featurette of just under an hour, on the domestic routine of a girl who enters the kitchen and prepares a sandwich in a methodical and mechanical way. A daily and apparently banal action that is repeated over and over until reaching a kind of obsessive sublimation as absurd as existential. Featuring Susanne Wuest, star of Goodnight Mommy. Toast was created in cooperation with Kunsthaus Graz and Diagonale Filmfestival 2006.
