Synopsis
Ten years ago, the directors filmed the last months of the Encants Vells market before it was moved to a building with a mirrored roof that seems to pretend to regulate the chaos of the old market. Now, this archive is a memory of the city, but also of the filmmakers’ transit through a territory of possibilities and dreams where uncertain realities and wills – restricted by the inscrutable laws of the real estate market – are mirrored.
Filmmaker
Raquel Marques
Filmmaker and teacher, she works in the field of documentary creation, image pedagogy and film education from a feminist perspective. She has a degree in Communication Sciences from the Universidade Nueva de Lisboa and a master’s degree in Creative Documentary from the UPF. She is co-head of the Drac Màgic educational projects team. Her films have premiered at festivals such as Málaga, Alcances, Doclisboa or L’Alternativa.
María Romero García
She is an illustrator and audiovisual creator, works at the Cooperativa de Tècniques and collaborates with various entities in the social and feminist field. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the UB and a master’s degree in Creative Documentary from the La Bonne cultural center. She expands her training in documentary and plastic training spaces. She is a creator of visual pieces for artistic spaces and communication projects with themes linked to feminism, minimal stories, memory and self-fiction.
