Synopsis
The vaqueiros de alzada are a nomadic people in western Asturias who spend a large part of the year isolated in the mountains, dedicated to cattle grazing. A group stigmatised in the towns and villages where they spend the winter, fiercely independent and rebellious. A great deal has happened since the old days (modernisation and progress reaches everywhere), but there are still vaqueiros who continue to lead a way of life that is becoming extinct. Bande films their annual cycle in detail, from when they go up into the mountains until the end of the season, in an ethnographic immersion that does not forget the past and the implications of a unique way of life, showing, once again, a story that needed urgently to be told before it disappears in the snows of oblivion. *Catalan première
