The D’A Film Festival Barcelona does not abandon its online version but it gives it a new direction by betting on a parallel program of films that will not be seen in any festival venue: first and second films by emerging directors, absolute premieres in Spain. They can only be seen on Filmin and will compete for a prize endowed with 5,000 euros. Risky films like the North American The Sleeping Negro, discovery of Slamdance, the super-independent film festival in Park City, Utah; New Zealand’s The Justice of Bunny King with the impressive Essie Davies (Babadook) as the lead; Argentina’s Nuestros días más felices, selected at Venice 2021 in a parallel section dedicated to low-budget films; or the surprising Turkish film Time of Impatience.
