D’A Film Festival Barcelona, together with Young Programmers Moving Cinema, makes an open call to collaborate in the programming of the Sala Jove D’A 2019. If you are interested in cinema and you are between 16 and 25 years old, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a film festival and live it from within. The tasks as young programmer of the Sala Jove will be: to watch films in work sessions to select six films for the festival, to comment them in group and to prepare a presentation to the spectators of the Sala Jove.
If you want to be part of the Young Programmers Moving Cinema group of the Sala Jove D’A 2019, you just have to fill out the form at the bottom of the page, including a text or a video that explains what the cinema means for you, what moves you to participate or what do you expect from the experience. The deadline for receiving applications is February 13.
Once received, the applications will be evaluated by a committee and a group of up to 15 young programmers will be formed. On February 15, candidates will be notified if they have been selected.
The Sala Jove D’A is an initiative of the D’A Film Festival Barcelona, in collaboration with A Bao A Qu – Cinema en Curs within the framework of the European program Moving Cinema. The Moving Cinema initiative aims to bring the cinema and auteur films closer to young people, while at the same time offering them the possibility of experiencing the work that takes place in a festival from within.
Besides D’A 2019 and A Bao A Qu, in this European program institutions from all over Europe participate, such as the Center for the Moving Image of Scotland, the British Film Institute or the Cinémathèque Française, as well as entities such as the Filmoteca de Catalunya, Dirijo Avilys (Lithuania) and Hueso Filhos de Lumière (Portugal).
