In the outskirts of Barcelona, specifically in El Prat del Llobregat, Carmen works as a casting director in an advertising production company that is in charge of creating images that warn that smoking kills on cigarette packs, as well as an electoral advertisement. Under the orders of Eva, Carmen is faced with the mission of finding a “normal” person with a good life story, “an honest misery”, as the project’s clients say, to participate in the political campaign.
(Barcelona, 1989) She is a screenwriter and director. Ferrés is a graduate in directing from ESCAC, where she has also taught. In 2017, Variety magazine highlighted her as a “Talent to Watch”. La imatge permanent is her first feature film, produced by Fasten Films, Le Bureau (France) and Volta Producción (Spain). The project began its journey in the following festivals and workshops: the Next Step of the Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival, the TorinoFilmLab and the Centre des Écritures Cinématographiques of the Moulin d’Andé, and has recently attended the Work In Progress of Les Arcs. Los desheredados, her first project after university, is a portrait of her father facing the end of the family business. It was the only Spanish production selected at the Cannes Film Festival 2017 (Semaine de la Critique), where it also won the award for Best Short Film.
