Synopsis
In the Canary Islands, the conquest of the western archipelago was carried out in the 15th century by Norman navigators in the service of the Crown of Castile. Afterwards, these navigators settled on the islands, becoming aristocrats. Fátima is the slave of Don Gaspar, a decadent marquis of French origin—blind and alcoholic—who owns the island’s only freshwater well. When the well begins to dry up and the villagers revolt, the marquis’s son leaves his father and his slave unprotected.
