Synopsis
Germán is the only child left in a remote village in the heart of a nearly deserted region, surrounded by endless, flat fields. And Thus It Will Go On is a story that spans six years of Germán’s life, told in reverse: from the beginning of his adolescence back to his childhood. A cinematic journey, against time, where we see Germán becoming more and more of a child. Year after year, the children who once left the village reappear. Thus, this reverse passage of time gives way to a carefree existence. Seven children in the vast fields will still not know what the future holds, and play will be their only way of understanding life.

Marina Palacio
She is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and belongs to the first graduating class of the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. There, she created Ya no duermo, a short film that premiered in 2020 in the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera section of the San Sebastián Film Festival. It went on to screen at more than thirty national and international festivals, winning six awards, including the Biznaga for Best Fiction Short Film at the Málaga Film Festival. As a photographer and videographer, she collaborates with various institutions, and in 2021, in conjunction with the San Sebastián Film Festival, she inaugurated her solo photography exhibition, [Film Not Found_Try Again], at Tabakalera. In 2025, she opened a second solo photography exhibition at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid.
